Thinking about the pace in which the mobile internet experience has changed, would make your head spin. It is hard to believe the Super Bowl was only live-streamed to mobile phones this year for the first time. Not so long ago, trying to do anything live on mobile was quite a suboptimal experience.

Nowadays mobile video is so reliable that some people don’t even bother looking; they just use YouTube as a radio channel.

Since we released our last MobileTrends Report, the trends we have identified over the first half of 2011 have been further pronounced.

Contrary to alternative data sources, we do not see how the massive growth of mobile data bandwidth usage could possibly be underestimated, showing an astounding 234% 2011 Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR), this growth is, in our opinion, indicative of the rapid and ongoing realization, driven by device innovation, of the full potential of the mobile internet.
